​Are you interested in developing your English language skills? Here is some information about some Pittsburgh organizations that can provide access to learning or perfecting your English! The Carnegie Library services listed below can also provide access to learning many other languages online, too.

  • Programs Offered:
    • English as a Second Language
      • Focus on reading, writing, speaking, listening skills, workplace success, digital literacy, and day-to-day life.
      • Different levels from beginner to experienced.
      • Open enrollment (come as you want)
    • Career Transitions
      • Can meet one-on-one with transitions manager to help explore and identify the next appropriate steps.
    • Family Literacy
      • For both parents and children; includes adult literacy, early childhood education, parenting skills and intergenerational literacy activities.

SERVICES:
  • English as a Second Language (ESL)
    • It has a variety of audio and physical resources to enhance skills.
    • Also, may attend classes and conversation skills, as well as use online resources.
    • ‘Let’s Speak English’ Conversation Club and ‘Let’s Read English’ Book Club
  • Professional Documents
    • Offers help on writing or editing resumes or cover letters.
