OUR WORK. OUR UNION.

We’re the Graduate Student Organizing Committee
(GSOC-USW) and we’re working to organize a union for
grad workers here at the University of Pittsburgh.
We’re committed to organizing for:
  • Funding security, including 1-year extensions for grads whose research timeline has been affected due to COVID-19.
  • Annual, across-the-board stipend increases.
  • Improved family benefits, such as lower-cost health coverage for dependents, health coverage, child-care subsidies and paid maternity leave.
  • Paid vacation and sick leave.
  • Protections against discriminatory practices, sexual harassment, and assault.
  • A fair grievance process for handling workplace issues, which also protects us from retaliation.
We’re not just a union, we’re a movement -
and we need your help to secure these gains!
