BARGAINING
UPDATES
April 30, 2026
On Thursday, we met with the administration’s bargaining committee and reached two major tentative agreements: Professional Rights and Appointments. The professional rights article outlines sections around grad remote/hybrid work, outside employment, intellectual property, and more. Appointments lays out the timeline of the issuance of an appointment letter and the relevant work information included therein. Check out the bargaining tracker for the full proposals!
While we are pleased to have reached these agreements, Pitt continues to ignore our proposal package offer. The package includes just cause in the exercise of professional judgement, performance evaluation, non-discrimination, anti-harassment, and anti-bullying. All of these proposals are vital for our first contract and we hope that the momentum today will prompt the administration to engage in future sessions.
To get connected to our organizing committee’s efforts, follow @pittgradunion on social media and get connected to an organizer in your field by clicking here.
See this and previous updates and newsletters here. Don’t forget to fill out your membership card if you haven’t already, or to fill out this form if your working conditions change. The administration will NOT have access to your membership card information (including whether or not you signed one) until our first contract is ready for ratification.
