BARGAINING
UPDATES
August 11, 2026
On Tuesday, we came to a tentative agreement on the Pay Schedule proposal. In this proposal we ensure graduate workers are paid in a timely manner and can hold the administration accountable if pay is late. We also introduced a new proposal, Bargaining Unit Work. The language in this proposal provides clarity on who is considered a part of the bargaining unit, based on their employment duties instead of just name of appointment position.
As we get closer to the beginning of the start of the semester, we hope to see you at upcoming events, listed below.
August 20th 4-6 pm is our Fall welcome back picnic in Schenley plaza.
As we inch closer to our economic proposals and our first CBA, we invite our union members to come watch a bargaining session and support us at the table. If you are interested in attending a bargaining session as an observer, fill out this general interest form.
To get connected to our organizing committee’s efforts, follow @pittgradunion on social media and get connected to an organizer in your field by clicking here. Check out the bargaining tracker for the full proposals!
See this and previous updates and newsletters here. Don’t forget to fill out your membership card if you haven’t already. The administration will NOT have access to your membership card information (including whether or not you signed one) until our first contract is ready for ratification. Also, fill out this form if your working conditions change.
In solidarity,
Your bargaining committee
