BARGAINING
UPDATES
August 28, 2025
Today we pushed the administration again on giving grad workers our interim raise for this school year. Join us in demanding that Pitt give us the compensation we deserve by signing this petition! We know that when we use our collective power, our employer responds.
Thanks to the pressure grad workers have continued to put on the administration, their bargaining committee returned six more counter proposals to us on Public Safety, Professional Rights, Appointments, English Language Proficiency Testing, Training, and Performance Evaluation. We returned counter proposals for Health and Safety and Non-Discrimination, as well as for English Language Proficiency Testing, Professional Rights, Training, Performance Evaluation, and Appointments. Making progress on these essential protections is critical to getting a first contract that works for all grads. If we keep showing Pitt our power, we will continue to move forward.
Along with signing our petition to get grads the raise we deserve, you can fill out your membership card any time. The larger our membership, the stronger our power. You can also join your union siblings at the Labor Day Parade on Monday, September 1st. The administration will NOT have access to your membership card information (including whether or not you signed one) until after our first contract has been ratified. If you have questions about bargaining or would like to hear an in-person update from us, you can join our next Bargaining Townhall on September 4th at 5pm in Posvar Hall, Room 3800. If you would like to participate remotely, please register here.
As usual, you can stay up to date with our Bargaining Tracker. Don’t forget to fill out this form if your working conditions change.
In solidarity,
