BARGAINING
UPDATES

January 30, 2026

On Friday, grad workers packed the room, urging the administration to end its protracted resistance to meaningful non-discrimination and international employee protections in our contract. Our coworkers shared powerful testimonials about how they are impacted by these issues. Afterwards, we proposed an interim agreement to address the growing concern of ICE in our community and current events. This agreement would require the administration to immediately protect us from warrantless entry and shield private spaces. If you are interested in joining future bargaining sessions as an observer, fill out this general interest form.

We offered counter proposals on non-discrimination, health and safety, public safety, support, and international worker protections. After weeks of pressure, we also finally received the administration’s first counter on our Hours of Work proposal. For full details on these updates, check out our Bargaining Tracker.

We will be hosting another bargaining town hall on Thursday, February 5th, at 5pm in the Cathedral of Learning, room 2117H.

Finally, remember that if you served as a TA/TF/GSA/GSR in the Fall semester, you should have received your September-December back pay, and if you are currently a TA/TF/GSA/GSR your January stipend should reflect a 2.5% wage increase. If you do not see these reflected in your PittWorx pay information, please fill out this form.

To see this and previous updates and newsletters here. Don’t forget to fill out your membership card, or to fill out this form if your working conditions change. The administration will NOT have access to your membership card information (including whether or not you signed one) until our first contract is ready for ratification.
