BARGAINING
UPDATES

June 10, 2026

On Wednesday, we met with the administration’s bargaining committee and exchanged multiple proposals. In the morning, the administration presented counters on hours of work and international employees, and we were able to come back with our own counterproposals the same afternoon. In the afternoon they returned our proposed pay schedule, which dictates policies surrounding the schedule of paydays, the Fall stipend advance, and over/underpayment of stipends.

Even though they returned our new proposal in the afternoon, we are still waiting for a number of older counters, some dating back as far as March. As you can see in our bargaining tracker the administration is stalling; all but one proposal is on their side of the table. Grads are eager to bargain over compensation and healthcare, and this lack of momentum is preventing us from coming to a final contract.

Join us Thursday June 25th from 5-6pm in the Cathedral of Learning 2017for our next bargaining townhall to talk about our most recent session and answer any questions you may have about the bargaining process. To get connected to our organizing committee’s efforts, follow @pittgradunion on social media and get connected to an organizer in your field by clicking here.

See this and previous updates and newsletters here. Don’t forget to fill out your membership card if you haven’t already, or to fill out this form if your working conditions change. The administration will NOT have access to your membership card information (including whether or not you signed one) until our first contract is ready for ratification.

In solidarity,
